Our Mission
We built this site to make exploring astrology straightforward and genuinely accurate, without unnecessary clutter, paywalls, or mystical exaggeration. Our goal is a fast, clear, and trustworthy tool for anyone curious about their birth chart.
What This Website Does
Enter your birth date, time, and place, and we calculate your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs individually or all together. Each calculator focuses on one placement.
Calculator Accuracy
Our calculations use the Astronomy Engine library for real planetary positions, proper geocoding, and historical time zone handling. No simplified date-range approximations.

How Our Calculations Work
We use Astronomy Engine, an open-source, MIT-licensed astronomical library, to calculate the real position of the Sun and Moon at your exact birth moment, and the real horizon position used for your Rising sign. These are genuine astronomical calculations, not simplified date-range lookups, which is why we ask for your exact birth time and place rather than just your birth date.
Your birthplace is converted to coordinates and matched to its correct historical time zone, including daylight saving rules that were in effect on your specific birth date, before your local birth time is converted to UTC for the calculation. This matters because a birth time that is technically correct on a clock can still produce an inaccurate result if the time zone conversion is wrong, especially for birth dates near a daylight saving change or in a location whose time zone rules have shifted over the decades.
Right now, we calculate your Sun sign, Moon sign, and Rising sign. We do not currently calculate house placements or planetary aspects, both of which require additional astronomical detail beyond sign-level positions. Like any calculation, ours depends on accurate input. If your birth time is off, or if your birthplace cannot be matched precisely, your Rising sign in particular can be affected, since it shifts roughly every two hours. We built our birthplace search and time zone handling to be as accurate as we can make them, but we would rather be upfront about this dependency than imply perfect certainty regardless of input.
Privacy Commitment
We do not store the birth details you enter into our calculators. Your birth date, time, and place are used only in your browser to produce a result and are not saved to any database on our end.
Why Birth Time Matters
Your Sun sign rarely needs an exact time, but your Moon sign and especially your Rising sign are highly time-sensitive — the Rising sign shifts roughly every two hours. An accurate birth time and location make the difference between a reliable result and a rough guess.
